A few nights after the intrepid parvusimperator flew a bomber for me to shoot at with the Davis gun, we tested our skills against each other in scouts. I flew the Sopwith Dolphin, probably the airplane I'm best with, and he flew the D.VIIF, the pride of the Central Powers.

He's a better Second World War pilot than a First World War pilot, so I had that edge, plus more stick time with my chosen scout. He had the superior airplane, but it's generally more the pilot than the plane, and I think that proved to be telling in the end.
