This week saw a visit to the Riverside Parkrun at ChesterleStreet, about 15 minutes drive from Newcastle or Durham, practically on the doorstep of the fabulous Beamish Outdoor Museum and full of some of the best parkrun volunteers, especially the trio who did the first timers briefing.

This was a 3 lap course, with a couple of nice quirks like a divergent path on each lap and a lovely riverside stretch full of plenty of wildlife for those that like to see that (highlight for me was seeing 2 herons on the third lap). While the route itself is lovely enough, the park has so many little secrets to discover if you wanted to make a morning of it you could easily spend a couple hours here wandering around the gardens and grounds, letting the kids blow off steam in the playground or taking in some of the local walking routes.

Hope you enjoy the video and if you get chance to try this parkrun please do, it's really quite pretty and it's got huge PB potential as well as it's largely very very flat and pretty open too.
