The assembly of medical products is more in demand than ever. The depicted dial machine has all custom designed stations for assembly and testing, based on a standard design paradigm. Only two parts and a label were combined on this machine to create a specimen collection assembly; however, orientation, location of features, and print were critical. Vision systems transferred information to the 4axis FANUC SCARA robots, which then oriented and aligned the top cover with the base. This machine can be easily upgraded to double output simply by changing nests on the dial and adding a second labeler.
