My original plans were to fly out Thursday morning and come home friday . I checked out the NOAA weather forcast and it called for ice on US84 just east of portland for Thursday evening so I moved my ticket up to Wedndy evening . . Chris Nelson was my sales man . He works for Rocky Mountain Wrecker Sales . I did not get a chance to meet Chris but the owner met me at 7 PM Wednesday night . We checked the truck over and I headed out . I was trying to beat a cold front that was heading into the Columbia River Gorge . I made it home Thursday night . Friday morning they had a 30 car pile up just east of Portland on US 84 . If I had left Thursday I would have been right in the middle of the pile up .
