In December 2019, just two years after retiring from his professional rugby league career, Rob Burrow received the devastating diagnosis that he had motor neurone disease (MND). At the time, Rob was given two years at most to live, but nearly four years on he’s determined to continue defying the odds. With Lindsey by his side as his full time carer, the family have now raised £13 million for motor neurone disease charities. Alongside Rob's former teammate Kevin Sinfield, the couple were awarded the Special Recognition Award at this year’s Pride of Britain Awards. Lindsey joins us to raise awareness of MND and discuss the realities of being Rob’s fulltime carer whilst supporting her children and maintaining a job, as well as the power of remaining positive whatever the circumstances.
