Rollie is our twoyear old male Tall Coton de Tuléar. As you can see, Rollie was raised from a puppy to be "one of the boys". This rare breed is originally from the island of Madagascar, and the "Tall" variant is even rarer still. Tuléar is a port on Madagascar now known as Toliara. The Coton is a playful, affectionate, intelligent breed. Cotons have hair (a lot like human hair), which makes them very popular and compatible with people who have allergies. Because they have hair, they don't shed. Since it is a nonshedding breed with no dander, it is hypoallergenic and has no "doggie smell". The Coton de Tuléar developed on the Island of Madagascar and is still the island's national dog. The Coton's ancestors were brought to Madagascar in the 16th and 17th century on pirate ships.
