• If you have ever taken a meditation or reiki course, you must have heard about chakras.
• Chakra means “disc” or “wheel” in Sanskrit and refers to the energy that is believed to refer to energy centers that exist in the body, tied with major organs and nerve bundles.
• There are 7 chakras in total, located along the spine, and they have to be open and balanced for a person to live a healthy life.
• The Root chakra, known as Muladhara (Sanskrit for “root base or root support”) is located at the base of the spine. It provides the base and foundation for all the chakras above it.
• The root chakra is considered to be the “starting point” for developing and maintaining balance.
• Imbalance in the root chakra can cause all sorts of problems, and it has to be healed to make sure the body functions properly.
• Let’s look at root chakra healing in detail:
Root Chakra Imbalance and Blockage
• The root chakra is tied to the emotional needs of a person, and if it becomes blocked, stagnant, or imbalanced, a person’s sense of belonging to this world can be at risk.
• An imbalance in the root chakra can lead to a loss of energy and can make a person insecure and restless.
• It can also lead to symptoms such as anxiety, low selfesteem, depression, and suicidal thoughts.
• In some cases, the root chakra may become blocked, draining people of their vital energy.
• This is believed to be a result of our genetics, as the root chakra ties us spiritually with our ancestors.
• Their strife and their achievements are carried down to us through the root chakra.
• We might not feel the suffering they may have gone through, but we inherit it through the root chakra.
• One day, those emotions may very well manifest themselves, causing emotional strife to the extent that the root chakra may become blocked.
• In such cases, the root chakra needs healing.
Symptoms
