John had to have been pretty naive and gullible or just plain dumb to think that after all he did, the government of all things was just gonna let him go. Sure it was unorthodox for them to use John in the way they did, to lazily accomplish their duties, when they should have just prosecuted him and Abigail but for John to actually sit in that car even after all Ross mentioned of his past crimes, and believe that after doing what they asked he was just gonna be set free was pretty dense minded.
