One of the least talked about tools, but also one of the most important, is the type of writing and marking instruments one uses. I use a 2mm mechanical pencil for marking on light surfaces. I choose to use a mechanical pencil because inevitably whenever I used a regular pencil, I could never find a sharpener. This is the upgraded mechanical pencil I have chosen based on many reviews from the artist community. While it is not cheap, it is certainly good. German engineering and Japanese construction make this one of the most popular mechanical pencils today.
