AUCKLAND NEW ZEALAND April 21, 2016. The Navy Kaman Seasprite SH2G(NZ) helicopters were officially retired at RNZAF Base Auckland (Whenuapai) 0n April 14, 2016. The helicopters have been replaced with eight new Seasprite SH2GI models. Today the last flight of the old models landed into retirement at Whenuapai after earlier arriving at Devonport Naval Base onboard HMNZS Canterbury which returned from Fiji after providing assistance with recovery operations caused by cyclone Winston.
