Rune Factory 2 is an installment in the Rune Factory series with a very interesting idea. With a complete overhaul of the Rune Factory formula, it returns to the roots of the traditional farming simulator genre defined by the Bokujō Monogatari (or Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons) franchise, while leaving all of Rune Factory's unique attributes for a second, "postgame" arc.

As a result, fans would either consider this their least favourite mainline game in the series, or even their most disliked, but is it really that bad?

Without a story, dungeons, bosses, and even passive activities like cooking, how well does Rune Factory 2 hold up in comparison to all the other games in the franchise? Is there enough game to play for the player to feel motivated enough to even consider getting to the story? Or does the new approach to the series fall flat on its face?

This is a blind scripted documentation of my playthrough, to see if Rune Factory 2 is deserving of the "worst mainline game in the series" title.
