IdaSophie Hegemann, born on March 21, 1997 in Duderstadt, is one of the world's best trail and ultra runners. After her first national successes, she moved to a sports boarding school at the Olympic Training Center in Hanover at the age of 15 to intensify her training.

After a long period of injury in track and road running, she came to trail running in 2017 via a detour to a guest stage at the Transalpine Run. She took part in her first trail competition a year later at Germany's biggest trail running event, the Zugspitz Ultratrail. Ida won the marathon course there, laying the foundation for her trail running career.
