A great start to my rush hour series with my annual visit to Bletchley on the West Coast Mainline where we see plenty of services from London Northwestern Railway, Avanti West Coast and freight from Freightliner, DB Cargo UK, GBRF, Royal Mail and a special movement courtesy of LSL.

Bletchley was built in 1846 by the London and Birmingham Railway once the line was completed from London Euston to Denbigh Hall which was located roughly 1 mile north of Bletchley station. This was at first considered a major station due to the fact that Milton Keynes hadn't been built let alone even thought of yet. Once Milton Keynes had been constructed the importance of Bletchley really fell away especially when the East West route had been downgraded. This isn't to be confused with the new East West rail link that is currently being constructed from Oxford to Cambridge, since my last visit the station on that section of the line is really coming along with both tracks now laid and ballasted on the flyover. The new station is starting to take shape quite nicely, hopefully it won't be too long until we see trains running on the line in readiness for passenger trains to be operating in revenue earning service.

My next rush hour film is from Linslade on the West Coast Mainline.
