The Russian plane maker United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) intends to start Tupolev Tu214 aircraft deliveries in 2024. Currently produced in limited quantities for the government and military, UAC aims to redirect Tu214 productionfor commercial use and gradually increase output from 10 to 20 per year to address the capacity gap.

Russia has been grappling with a significant capacity gap, which emerged for its airlines due to Western sanctions imposed on the country in 2022 as a response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
