In this episode we cover our RV backup camera install.

I did a lot of research online covering backup cameras. There are many different kinds with many different price points. There were two or three aftermarket or "nonname brand cameras," that I was going back and forth with but finally decided to go with the Furrion Vision S 4.3 monitor.

I felt like the smaller screen would be better for our set up. I have a tire monitor on one side of the steering wheel, my phone mounted on the other, and now a backup camera. I definitely wanted the smaller screen to keep from cluttering up the dash. I thought maybe a larger screen might be too much of a distraction.

I have to admit it is very nice to be able to see what is behind you as you are driving down the road. Before we got our camera it was always a little nerve wracking to try to change lanes. After camera install it is way less stressful! The Furrion has sound as well! Now when backing in, or checking lights I can turn the sound up and hear my spotter speak to me without having to call on the cell phone. Sometimes we were setting up and the phone service wasn't very good and you just couldn't call one another.

All in all I'm so happy with our new backup camera. I will not own a camper without one now! It takes all of the guess work out of backing and lane changes. I feel so much safer and more confident now that I can see what's going on behind me!
