ℹ About the Episode: We went back and forth on whether taking the ferry across Lake Michigan was worth it. We've taken many ferries, and they usually save us quite a bit of time and fuel. In this case, the ferry did one better—it saved us from driving through Chicago. (If you've ever towed or driven an RV through Chicago, you know.) In this episode, we make our way to Sister Bay, Wisconsin, located in Door County. If you haven't visited Door County yet, it's worth considering as a summer destination. It's located on a peninsula on Lake Michigan's west side, north of Green Bay, and the water views are spectacular. A great time to visit is near Air Venture, which is one of the largest air shows in the country. Door County can also be paired with Michigan's Upper Peninsula (referred to as the UP "you pee") and Mackinac Island. There is lots to do in Door County. We enjoy exploring the farmers' markets, riding bikes, watching sunsets, and visiting Peninsula State Park. This time, we stayed at Dovetail Acres Campground, but there are many private and state park campgrounds to choose from.
