Making art is a form of prayer.

For me, it’s one of the most direct ways I have to talk to God and hear God talking to me. It’s a place to make sense of this life and human experience, a place to bring my questions, my fears, my doubts, my joy and my pain.

It’s a way of being that allows healing to happen naturally, where insight and inspiration are more easily accessible and where I can tap into a limitless source of Love, Light & Life Force energy. It’s a spiritual practice and mystical experience.

This moment is from a creative flow session I had a recently with my brother Darius Bashas who captured this clip. I came into our sesh with some heaviness on my heart and some big life questions looming.

In the middle, of this particular music meditation where I was just allowing myself to express and make sound intuitively, I felt a message coming through so I paused to listen and it ended up being the answer and wisdom I needed in that moment.

Making art is a form of prayer and prayer is an art form. And it’s even more powerful when we get to share in those flow states, pray, create and collaborate together with our soul fam.
