I rarely make a #remix of a remix I've already made, but it's happened before when I reremixed my own "Move Love Bossa remix" and turned it into a Samba/House version. So why'd I do it again this time, you ask?
Well, I done did it again , although I'm sorta following #Sade's example on this one. As many of you know, the original "#CherishtheDay" came out in '92 on the #LoveDeluxe album, but another official version came out the following year in '93 that was featured in the only official music video for the song but wasn't called a remix, so they basically chose the second version of the song for the video even though the album version had been out for a year and was pretty popular already. The second version, however, included a male vocalist harmonizing with Sade (#LeroyOsbourne), and minor edits where made to the original format, though they kept it mostly intact, minus the new alternate ending it had. To be honest, I can see why they chose it to replace the album version for the music video as I always did like it a lot, but still enjoyed both versions (and I wanted Leroy's vocal duets with Sade in my new version).
Anyway, I had actually started mine with a #reggae version vibe, which is why my bass line sounded a bit #Caribbean, for those who caught that, but since I didn't totally know where I wanted to go with it, I switched it to the more Hip Hop styled beat I ended up releasing it with. Well, maybe a week or so after dropping that version, I decided to revisit it and see where I could have gone with the reggaestyled idea, and then the structure started to really come together until I realized I might have another/alternate version on my hands, and so the "#WineIttup version" became and will drop on Monday, July 25th @ 12am Eastern Time.
And for those unfamiliar with the slang term of "wine", please Google search what #wineyourwaist means so you'll understand what kind of #sexy dance fits this sexy version Even though I'm #Bajan, the color scheme of the artwork (and this newsletter) references the #Jamaican flag because that's the home of Reggae, which is infused in this second version. (big up yaself, Yardies!)
Here's hoping you all enjoy this rare, alternate version remix,
Ahmed
