If you are just moving to Los Angeles with a family, this video will tell you what the top 5 Safe and Affordable Family Neighborhoods in the Los Angeles Area are!
This list is based on affordability, home price points,  public schools, crime, family amenities, parks etc.

1.Woodland Hills
Many residents enjoy Woodland Hills’ tranquil, quiet, and suburban vibe, so there isn’t much of a nightlife for residents unless they travel to neighboring Valley communities.
There are several Malls such as the Westfield Topanga Mall and The Village, right across the street from each other. In the parking lot next to those used to be an AMC theater and another mall but they have recently been purchased by the Los Angeles Rams with plans to tear it down and build a practice facility there so the neighborhood will be boomin!
Woodland Hills is tranquil with treelined residential streets and plenty of greenspace, ideal for families interested in suburban living. For kidfriendly fun, simply head to De Soto Avenue and enjoy a variety of attractions from GlowZone

2.Westchester
Westchester is a city located near LA’s Silicon Beach, between Marina Del Rey and LAX.
It is. predominantly a residential neighborhood that's quiet and peaceful. Loyola Marymount University sits on one of its hills overlooking the city and creative types can hone their craft at the Otis College of Art and Design.
There are 39,795 residents in Westchester and the average home sale price is around $1.6 million.
Westchester is a lovely mostly family and college neighborhood in West Los Angeles. There is very little crime, trails to exercise on, school security nearby, and a lot of families who live among the college students who attend LMU. Westchester is a very safe suburban neighborhood to the west of downtown Los Angeles.

3.Burbank
Burbank is located on the far East of the Valley and is nestled up against the verdugo mountains. The 5 freeway cuts through Burbank which is one of the busiest commuting freeways in LA. There’s also the Bob Hope Airport or Burbank Airport which is an incredible alternative from LAX, if you live in the valley, I highly recommend using this airport when traveling if you want to save yourself much of the hassle that is with going through LAX.
b.While Burbank may be best known for its movie and T.V. heritage, the city is a lot more than a studio backlot. With homes as varied as 900 square foot "half lots" and hillside luxury mansions, Burbank offers neighborhoods for all tastes, many with excellent outdoor space and ideal proximity to the many fun things to do in Burbank. Burbank likely has a great match no matter what potential residents are looking for in a new community.

4. Torrance
Torrance is located just inland from the South Bay in Los Angeles and is more affordable to live than if you’re in the Manhattan beach, Redondo, or Palos verdes areas.
Torrance is one of the larger cities toward the south bay and is just a couple of miles to the beach. It’s great for riding bikes and is safe compared to most of the other cities more north in the South LA areas. Schools in Torrance are great and accommodating of what I’ve heard from clients I have down there and it’s a friendly, low crime, and safe community.

5. Chatsworth
There are many suburban family neighborhoods such as west of Topanga, and north of Topanga there’s a large gated community that many wealthy people live in actually known as Indian falls.
Chatsworth has a few good schools as well such as Sierra Canyon high school, home to the #1 best basketball school in the country, Lebron James son, Bronny, goes there currently.
