After watching the video session you should be able to:
Identify the general disposition of pelvic viscera: urinary bladder, prostate, seminal vesicles, ductus deferens, ampulla of the vas, and rectum.
Identify pelvic diaphragm, piriformis and obturator internus muscles.
Describe the branches of the internal iliac artery: origin, course, relations, and destination; superior gluteal, iliolumbar, lateral sacral, inferior gluteal, inferior vesical, internal pudendal, umbilical, obturator arteries.
Identify the sacral plexus.
Describe the relation of the obturator nerve to the ovary or pelvic appendix and its involvement in their pathologies.
Identify the relationship of the pubic branch of the inferior epigastric artery to the femoral ring and lacunar ligament.
Discuss the surgical significance of the aberrant obturator artery.
