Hi Im Rob and welcome to East Coast Sailing. I finally sailed to the Chanel Islands after 2 previous failed attempts. After spending 2 weeks at sea and exploring the amazing islands of Alderney, Guernsey & Sark, it was time to start making my way home. I was beginning to feel home sick. To make things worse it was also fathers day and i was spending it away from my family, my son was angry at me for leaving him. I had to make the 80 mile journey over the English Channel to reunite with my family for an emotional reunion. I also wrote a really bad song you can sing along to with the words written underneath karaoke style should you wish to join in :) LOL. It was a song about missing my family, but also my anguish of having to leave Alderney which was my favourite island by far. The crossing started off in flat calm for half of the journey where winds speeds whipped up to 28 knots. As the winds grew, so did the seas. As i sailed around the Needles, the converging tidal flows produced eddies & large disturbed wave formations coming for me at all angles where i was tossed about. To me this video signifies my own personal goal of tenacity & perseverance to achieve one of my dreams which was to get to the Channel Islands. Any questions please don't hesitate to ask.
