Jerome became known worldwide as the translator of the Bible into Latin. One day Saint Jerome had an encounter with the Baby Jesus, who asked what Jerome would give Him for Christmas.

“Jerônimo – said Baby Jesus – what are you going to give me for my birthday?

Saint Jerome was born in Estridão, a city in the ancient Roman province of Dalmatia. Today that region is Croatia. He was born in 347 AD and would become known throughout Christianity as the patron saint of librarians, archivists, archaeologists, students, Bible students, as well as encyclopedists and translators.
