From August into early October, 2023, the second installment of "Saint Louis Area Rails Of Today" was filmed around the STL area. In this video, you'll see 13 different locations, with one train at each. As you saw in the part one, each location and train has some significance to railroading in the STL area,

Location One:
CN Southbound Local Train L548, w/ two Illinois Central "Deathstar" SD70s in Belleville, IL. CN St. Louis Sub

Location Two:
UP westbound empty windmill(?) move in Pacific, MO, UP Jefferson City Sub

Location Three:
BNSF Eastbound QSPMSTL meeting Westbound BNSF HSTLTUL at Keyes Summit (Valley Park), MO, BNSF Cuba Sub. On the portion of double track between Lindenwood Yard & Valley Park, meets between trains are very uncommon, since traffic is typically very light.

Location Four:
Westbound Alton & Southern Local, bound for 12th St. Yard in Downtown St. Louis, MO. Two of A&S's recently painted SD60s serve as power for the job.

Location Five:
Southbound UP Lite Power returning to Lesperence Yard on the south side of Downtown STL. The unit came from across the river in IL, and was likely doing work over there before returning lite.

Location Six:
Westbound UP Intermodal w/ CN Power, Sherman, MO, UP Jefferson City Sub

Location Seven:
Southbound BNSF Grain bound for N. STL, Old Monroe, MO, BNSF Hannibal Sub (KLine)

Location Eight:
Westbound UP IG4SIB, passing the Historic MoPac Depot in Kirkwood, MO, UP Jefferson City Sub

Location Nine:
Eastbound Alton & Southern Local returning to Gateway Yard with the A&S SD60s, East St. Louis, IL

Location Ten:
Southbound NS manifest/intermodal combo, Granite City, IL, NS Brooklyn District

Location Eleven:
Northbound CPKC 259, heading underneath the "Concrete Jungle" of Interstate highway in East St Louis, IL. The train has just departed CPKC's East STL yard, and we'll see a northbound Amtrak passenger train passing overhead as well.

Location Twelve:
Westbound NS DW02, O'Fallon, MO, NS St. Louis District

Location Thirteen:
Southbound CPKC Grain running on the UP Oak Hill Branch of the Desoto Sub, Carondelet Park, South St Louis, MO. The train was interchanged in downtown STL to UP, and runs south to Italgrani in south city.
