I've finally gotten the chance to get my VQ Rare Bear outside to do some breaking in of the Saito FG60r3 radial engine up front. Although it was very fun and exciting, I did run into a handful of issues! The main one being that I couldn't seem to get the fuel mixture rich enough to significantly drop the RPMs. The manual states to start at 2 turns out on the high speed needle and to back it out until the RPM drops to around 4000. I got it about 5 turns out before giving up. However, I did miss in the manual that it says if RPMs don't drop that you should back out the low speed needle until it does. I've only run one tank of fuel through this engine so there is plenty of running in to do in the future. I know for next time to take a different approach to dropping those RPMs!
