Sam Wilde is a new designer for Free Spirit fabrics and I was fortunate to receive his new collection Florescence to work with. I have wanted to make an optical illusion quilt for ages and this seemed like the perfect opportunity! Don't you just love how it came together? as promised, I will list the sizes at the end of this description.

The measurements I used
the 'feature' squares are 5"
the 'shadow' fabric is 1.5" wide and 5.5" long this will need trimming a little when you sew each one to the square,
The little offset pieces are 1" x 1.5"
make sure you get the shadow layout opposite each other.
The sashing I used was 2" wide.
Have a play with the layout and alter the sizes to suit yourself
