American Ancestors

Founded in 1670, Edinburgh’s Royal Botanic Garden is one of the oldest surviving botanic gardens in the world. Housing 273,000 individual plants (representing approximately 13,300 species) and over 3 million specimens, the garden is known not only for its wonderful collection of plants, but also for its architecture, creative programs, scientific studies, and archives. This illustrationrich webinar will feature some of the most interesting stories of the history of this exceptional garden and offer insight into how the garden’s mission to “explore, conserve, and explain the world of plants” is realized in practical terms today.
