Sanyo SCP-6200 Cell Phone Sprint 2002

Rare Noggin Stuff

This is an old Sanyo SCP6200 cell phone for Sprint from 2002, which I got off Mercari as part of a phone lot in February 2024. I also have three other SCP6200s, those being one I got off eBay in February 2018, and two I got in a phone lot in May 2024. All four of the ones in my possession work perfectly, but the one I got in 2018 has a crack in the outer LCD lens, which does not affect the LCD itself. BTW, as you can see I powered the phone off a battery box containing three NiMH AA batteries, because the original battery for the phone no longer holds a charge. This method is great for powering old cell phones which no longer have good batteries. However, you must use only the NiMH AA batteries, as the alkaline ones have too much voltage. Generally, these phones use between 3.7 volts and 4.1 volts. This pack with the NiMH AA batteries puts out a perfectly appropriate 3.9 volts. With alkaline it would put out 4.5 volts, which is too much for these phones and runs the risk of damaging them. You can download the ringtones here.
