Today I am officially 1 year post op from a life changing knee surgery! As many of you know already I had a uncommon knee injury I didn’t have a acl tear or meniscus . I had synovial plica syndorme ! I wanted to raise awareness about this injury & share my story in hopes I can help out others who are going through this injury or need guidance as to what this injury is & about. As when I was searching for information or videos on this injury there was barely anything out there ! I wanted to share my story & my experience from diagnosis to surgery to recovery.
I wanted to give a big THANK YOU to @universityorthopedics for listening to me and not dismissing me ! If it wasn’t for Dr. Salko, My Pt Allison , and Dr Owens I wouldn’t be here saying this or celebrating one year of no knee pain ! This injury took years to get a true diagnosis and the only
place that actually listened to me was @universityorthopedics @brownorthopedics they didn’t give up on me ! I wanted to say thank you for giving me my athletic life back ! I am finally knee pain free and doing so much more athletic activities that I could have never done if I never got my knee checked out by you all !
None of this would be possible if it wasn’t for my family, friends , and my best friends for supporting my decision in surgery & telling my story publicly. I wanted to also share my story to make sure drs, nurses , and pts here their patients out & listen to them and not dismiss them ! If it wasn’t for Dr Owens and everyone at University of Orthopedics I wouldn’t be here sharing this with you all.
