Sarracenia leucophylla otherwise known as the white pitcher plant are a gorgeous species of North American pitcher plant. It's Autumn right now and I love to see my nursery turn into a sea of white pitchers. Leucophylla really put on a display at this time of year as they bring up their largest pitchers of the growing season. In this video I compare two types of Sarracenia leucophylla at my nursery: Sarracenia leucophylla var. Tarnok and Sarracenia leucoophylla f. red veins. They're both peaking and looking as great as ever! During the video I film by accident a house fly falling into one of the pitchers. It just goes to show that Sarracenia leucophylla not only look beautiful but are effective fly catchers.
