An old knitted blanket, some craft foam, and duct tape will get you chain mail, armor, and movable gloves to finish your Sauron costume. Cover them all in some silver paint and spotty detailing for a metallic look.

The chain mail in this costume didn't work out quite as well as I'd hoped. The fabric sucked up the spray paint making it appear grey instead of silver, but since it's mostly covered by foam armor, it doesn't show that much.
