On October 8th, deadly wildfires spread furiously through northern California, eventually burning more than 220,000 acres, killing dozens and destroying more than 8,000 properties. The legendary wine country of Napa and Sonoma counties was particularly hard hit. While many homes and properties succumbed to the inferno, the Triple S Ranch in Calistoga was saved, thanks to the efforts of its owner, Derek Webb, and his friends and neighbors who fought back the Tubbs wildfire as it fast approached the Napa Valley ranch which dates to the 1800s and was once a dairy farm and restaurant.

KQED Producer and Reporter Sheraz Sadiq interviewed Webb to learn how he saved this historic Napa Valley property from going up in flames.
