The Sawscaled viper (Echis carinatus) is a small venomous snake which lives in the Middle East and on the Indian subcontinent. It has a very potent venom capable of killing a human. These vipers are often defensive and don't hesitate to strike when threatened. They produce a famous sizzling sound with scales on their flanks (with a sawlike structure). Different subspecies have very different size. In this video you will see the large Echis carinatus sochureki (filmed in Iran) and also the small Echis carinatus carinatus (filmed in India).
