If the Aircraft was on fire the only real option left for the bomber pilot was to bailout in quick order.



bailouts occurred in all types of airplanes including fighters and bomber variants. bailouts in bombers were naturally a slower process, due to the cramped interior of bombers and the amount of crew members that had to get out.
