The Sciatic nerve is one of the largest nerves in the body, helping the brain communicate with your lower leg. A lot of people with Sciatica experience sharp pain from the lower back, through the butt muscles and all the way down the lower leg. If you have done work on the muscle (stretching, massages, physical therapy) but are STILL experiencing pain the problem could very well be in your spine.
