Scientists FOUND 800,000 YearOld Queen In Egypt And She's Not What You Think

On January 25, 2011, the streets of Cairo, Egypt, were alive with huge crowds. People were out in full force, demanding that President Hosni Mubarak step down after being in power for 30 years. While everyone's eyes were glued to the protests happening on the streets, something amazing was taking place underground. Suzanne Bickle, an archaeologist from the University of Basel in Switzerland, and her team were about to stumble upon an incredible find in the dusty corridors of the Valley of the Kings. They discovered the top part of a big, round stone at the eastern edge of the valley. Initially, it seemed to be just a forgotten shaft top, but it was actually the entrance to a tomb that nobody knew existed until then, later named KV64.

This discovery was a major deal. The Valley of the Kings, where Egypt’s pharaohs and nobles were buried long ago, hadn't seen such an important find in many years. However, before they could explore more, they had to deal with the strict rules for digging up archaeological sites in Egypt. They secured the stone with a lockable iron door, told the Egyptian authorities, and applied for all the permits needed to keep digging. A year later, after getting the goahead, Bickle came back with an even bigger team. This new group had around two dozen experts and workers, including Elena Poggi, a prominent field director from the University of Basel, and Ali Rida, an Egyptian inspector. Local workers, whose families had been in the area for generations, also helped out.
