SCOTT FISCHER'S DEATH: WHAT HAPPENED IN THE 1996 EVEREST DISASTER

On Friday, May 10, 1996, when climbers were descending from the peak of Mount Everest, a powerful and sudden storm caught them high in the mountain. Eight individuals died in total, making it the single greatest incident in the mountain's climbing history. Scott Fischer, a wellknown climbing guide from Seattle, is one of them.

While leading excursions to "the top of the world," Scott Fischer coordinated this ascent with care for the weather records on Everest. He was supported by two of the world's top climbers, Neal Beidleman and Anatoli Boukreev.

Scott Fischer's fifth trip to Everest, proved to be his last.
