Scratch Building a Pitts: An Easy Way to do Leading Edge Sheeting

Follow
From the Ground Up R/C

This week, all we did was sheet the leading edge on the top wing to the Pitts using a new method I’ve never tried before. Normally you would want your wing secured to your bench to make sure it’s straight, or has the correct amount of washout in the tip. However when I sheeted the lower wing, I didn’t notice a huge change in stiffness so I wasn’t worried about the upper wing.

After sheeting the lower half of the wing I made the brass mounting points for the flying wires. Then sheeted to top the same as the bottom. Hopefully in a few weeks I can show you the process of mounting the upper wing and making the struts.
