Follow
Tradesman Firearms

Part One:

Perform a detailed disassembly of your firearm and polish your feed ramp following the guidance you received in this week's lecture. The actual disassembly process can be done off camera, however, it will be important to show the firearm before and after (assembled and disassembled) the disassembly process. All you will need to show of the polishing requirement is the before and after surface of the feed ramp. You will also articulate how this work can help reduce malfunctions and identify the dimensions that are important to maintain when performing work like this.

Part Two:

Briefly demonstrate the method of cleaning and inspecting a fully disassembled firearm, as outlined in your lecture materials, using your 1911 as an example piece. You will also articulate how this methodology is similar to or different from other methods you have used in the past.

Part Three:

Explain how you can educate a customer to spot and avoid ammunitioninduced malfunctions. What damage and/or injury may occur if these principles are not understood?

Part Four:

As a gunsmith, should you train your customers in proper grip and stance principles?

Part Five:

Describe why it is important to understand firearm and accessory operation prior to attaching any accessory to a firearm. Give specific examples of when this understanding would be applicable.

Video Requirements and Resources:

The student's video submission should not exceed 7 minutes and should include all criteria listed in the grading rubric.
