In this video, we will examine the infamous seed shrimp or ostracods as they are scientifically known. A species often confused with scuds in our hobby. We will familiarise with their anatomy, benefits in Freshwater Fish and Shrimp Aquariums and possible ways to remove them if necessary.

We see these tiny creatures more often in caridina and neocaridina shrimp aquariums are there are no natural predators to hunt them down and eliminate them. Regardless, in this video you will see some of the benefits that come with one of nature's best clean up crew, the seed shrimp. Enjoy!
