Sega CD & Mega CD Secrets Part 2 discusses a few interesting bits and pieces such as how the ASIC could potentially render Raycast and have a RAM cart.

Minor post production edit: The ASIC draws the output bitmap using the stamp map as the source image(s) that the ASIC scans as it draws to the output bitmap.
