Sequential Rear Light Setup 89 Chevy Caprice

This is how I set up the Sequential Rear Lights on my 1989 Chevy Caprice. Fairly easy setup, you will have to get a new/used light switch for the center lights on both sides. I ordered the modules off of eBay and they worked perfectly fine.

New Information about the relays.

I did these lights in July of 2020 and the car has pretty much just sat since then. I took it out for a drive a few weeks ago just to run the motor and transmission and to get the parts moving. That is when I noticed that the brake lights were not working correctly. With this setup/relay, the brake lights will flash one sequence and go off / not stay on. I didn't realize that this setup doesn't work if your turn signal and brake wire are on the same circuit/wire as the two yellow or green wires I used. The two samecolored wires are actually different. One is the Turn Signal and the other is the Brake Lights. If you put a test light on one and turn on the signal only one wire will be hot. Then when you step on the brake the other wire is hot. With this setup being that the power still cycles through the relay, the relay then shuts off the power from consistently being on like brake lights would normally work. I don't think there is a way around it if your lights are wired in that fashion. I tried wiring it with just the flasher wire leaving the brake wire loose and that works but once I connect the brake wire it still cycles through the relay being that they are running in series and the issue persists. I am going to do some research but I doubt I will find anything to solve the issue with the relay. The sequential part works fine it's just the brake lights that are the issue. Well not really the light it is the relay itself. I actually have to find the correct relay for these cars.

Thank you all for watching and commenting. I will do another once I find the proper relay for it.
