Hi friends. Today we are taking a look into the book of 1 John. It's a beautiful book filled with lots of counsel on how to live as a follower of Jesus. It's also a book with a very unique structure that takes a bit of time to wrap ones mind around. It features a literary technique called Amplification. John has a number of topics that he address that he introduces and then circles back to over and over again weaving them throughout the whole letter. The net result a finely woven and intertwined book on Christian living that makes a subtle point: As Christians our life, belief's, practices are completely intertwined and indivisible. One cannot parse and separate, or compartmentalize parts of our faith and life. We are a whole as is the book of 1 John and it's teachings on Jesus
