SERRO MG - The land of Minas Gerais cheeses | What to do in the city 1 day itinerary in Serro

Por onde andei, com Fernanda Götz

Serro looks like a city stopped in time. And walking through it is a step back in time.
It was the first city in Minas to be declared a National Historic Landmark, in 1938, and is the birthplace of Chica da Silva.
Famous for the tradition in the manufacture of artisanal cheeses, the city is a pioneer in the production of cheeses in mines, and Serro cheese has become Brazil's intangible heritage.

The city is beautiful, it looks like a scenic city, full of mansions and historic buildings, it still retains the charm of a colonial village.

The most striking scenery in Serro is the stone staircase with the Church of Santa Rita at the top.
From the top of the hill, it is possible to see the whole city and the beautiful hillside surrounded by houses from the colonial period.
But in addition to all this historical beauty, Serro hides many waterfalls in the districts around it, such as Milho Verde, São Gonçalo do Rio das Pedras, and the district of Capivari, where we went to explore the region in search of the beautiful waterfall of lost time.
