Songs are the only reason I even dipped a toe into this wacky online world waaay back in 1996 (when I started The Sesame Street Lyrics Archive for my autistic son), so it seems only fitting to share this beautiful version of "Songs" to celebrate reaching 50,000 YOUTUBE SUBSCRIBERS, OMG, KIDS! Never thought I'd see the day and I'm dead chuffed, as my British father used to say. Thank you all so much for the support over the last 16 years here on YT. "Songs", written by Dennis Scott, was first performed on the show by Crystal Gayle and Big Bird (Caroll Spinney) in 1983 (Episode 1798), but was released earlier on the album, "Sesame Country", in 1981. Not new to YT, just a cleaner copy. With massive thanks to my Sesame Street Sugar Daddy.
