In CAD and BIM software used by architects and engineers, the concept of family refers to a set of objects that share a common design, while allowing variations for each occurrence, based on geometric drivers, such as the corners of a panel, or parametric drivers, such as its thickness. This enables standardized design of nonstandard objects. In Blender, Geometry nodes enable similar behavior to be mimicked, thanks to the notion of group, which allows a same set of nodes to be shared between several objects, with inputs specific to each of these objects.
