Jack Brush set the 1000k world speed record in N21D in 2019 at 277 kts. It took 5 attempts. This is an interview with Jack in February about his career, the Aerostar his setting the 1000k and 2000k closed course records. I had the chance to fly it to Aerostar a couple weeks ago from Colorado Springs to Coeur d Alene. It is definitely fast. I saw true airspeeds at FL220 of 260270 kts with OAT ranging from 10C to 30C running 60% power burning 39gph. There is a good reason it is known as the worlds fastest light piston twin.
