Sewing with Stitching Notes: Let's make a baby book

Follow
Stitching Notes

Let's make a very sweet baby book with crinkling pages that your baby or toddler will love to play with for years.

This book is quick and easy to sew and fun to "read" with your little one especially at bed time. It can be a lovely addition to any baby gift too.

Things you will need:

• Two 3½" x 5½" pieces of cotton for the front and back of the book
• One 8" x 5½ piece of cotton for the inside of the book
• One 2" x 5½" piece of cotton for the spine of the book
• Eight 3¾" x 5" pieces of cotton for the pages
• One 8" x 5½ piece of batting
• Two 7" x 5" pieces of plastic bag from cereal
• Heat/water erasable fabric pen
• Tiny scrap of fabric for the heart
• Brown embroidery floss
• Sewing supplies

Important:

Make sure to keep your plastic on top when sewing the pages and hold it firmly with your fingers to stop it from sliding.

This book can be made in any size, so you don't need to be precise with the measurements.

This book is absolutely washable! Just pop it in a small wash bag with your washing (I use cold water).

Please DO NOT IRON the pages with the plastic insert! The plastic will melt and your book will be ruined.
