The protagonist, Hong San, along with his mother and close friend Qi Lin, flees to Shanghai to seek refuge with Yan Hua. They become embroiled in a power struggle between two major corporations. With his wit, Hong San manages to navigate the treacherous Shanghai Beach and forms a close bond with the loyal and righteous Shen Da Yi. In the midst of their intellectual battles, he also captures the heart of Lin Yi Yi, who disguises herself as a man.
