Happy Sunday Guys!!!!

Today, I will be demonstrating how I achieve my twistouts using Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie. I was actually surprised that you guys wanted to see a video showcasing my twistout technique since I already have a twistout video on this channel (Flaxseed gel twistout w/ shea moisture). The technique is pretty much the same.

Flaxseed gel twistout tutorial:
   • Flaxseed Gel TwistOut

****I will say this: I like the Shea Moisture/Conditioner combination better because I have more volume. :D

Here are the details:
I do not use a lot of shea moisture on my hair. A little goes a long way with this product. In the video you will notice that I used a small amount. I do not know the exact amount that I used, I just guestimate :).

I used tresemme' naturals as my leave in conditioner. You can use any leave in conditioner of your choice. The reason I decided to use a conditioner under the SM is because the conditioner provides more slip when applying the product.

Slip allows you to detangle your hair with ease.

Again, I am just twisting my hair. It is pretty self explanatory. I do like to smooth the strand of hair before I twist it. Doing this allows me to have frizz free twistout.

I air dried my hair overnight. You can air dry or sit under a hooded dryer to speed up the process.

I preserve my twistout by putting it in a pineapple at night. (a high pony tail)

I had a total of 12 twists.

NOTE: The key to this style is not using too much shea moisture (if your hair is fine), and allowing your hair to fully dry. Do not touch your hair after you have finished twisting it. Touching creates frizz.

This style can last 57 days if I do not play in my hair too much! ;)

I applied a little gel to my roots (not in the video)

Do you still use the Paul Mitchell and Eco Styler gel?
Yes. My twistouts last longer when I use the shea moisture. The gel have a tendency to straighten my hair after a few days (I lose volume).

I am trying out the SM and I am enjoying it so far. I haven't officially made it a staple yet, but it will most likely become one.

Do you still use Let's Jam?
Occasionally. I do not use it often because the jar is too small and I run through it. :)

Note: please keep in mind that I am a blogger and products that I use my change from time to time. I have my staples and it is great if the products that I use help you, but please remember to do what works for you :) I am demonstrating what works for me. Everyone hair responds differently to products and certain styles.

I did the big chop 02.15.2009. I did not transition.

I do not take any vitamins to speed up hair growth. I just allow nature to do its thing. :)
