सध्याच्या दुष्काळी भागातील शेतकरीही आधुनिक तंत्रज्ञानाच्या माध्यमातून शेतीतून चांगले उत्पन्न मिळवत आहेत. सातारा जिल्ह्यातील दुष्काळी भागातील शेतकरी जालिंदर सोळसकर हे ढोबळी मिरचीच्या (शिमला मिरची) शेतीतून लाखोंची कमाई करत आहे. कोरेगाव तालुक्यातील सोळशी येथे त्यांनी 2 एकर शेतीतून तब्बल 75 लाखांचे उत्पन्न घेतले आहे. सोळशकर यांची ही शेती दुष्काळी भागातील अनेक शेतकऱ्यांसाठी प्रेरणा ठरत आहे.

The farmers in the current drought areas are also getting good income from agriculture through modern technology. Jalinder Solaskar, a farmer in the droughtprone areas of Satara district, is earning lakhs of rupees from Dhobli chilli (capsicum) farming. At Solshi in Koregaon taluka, he has earned an income of 75 lakhs from 2 acres of agriculture. Solshakar's farming is becoming an inspiration for many farmers in droughtstricken areas.
